Village of Maybrook partners with “Hope Not Handcuffs” to assist residents who suffer from addiction and are looking for help.

Starting in January, someone suffering from addiction can walk into the Village of Maybrook Police Department and the Town of Montgomery Police Department for support and referrals to treatment and recovery services in lieu of arrest and prosecution.
Participants will be greeted with compassion by a trained “Angel” volunteer who will assist in securing placement in an appropriate treatment program.

Hope Not Handcuffs, a program of the Tri-County Community Partnership, creates a single point of access to treatment.
This initiative exemplifies police and community working together for the benefit of all.

Hope Not Handcuffs is searching for community volunteers to become trained Angels.

Volunteers are able to choose when they are available to offer this unique and compassionate service to their community.
