Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus presented Mayor Dennis Leahy with a check on Monday, July 10th to help promote tourism in the village.
“Tourism is one of the most effective economic development tools that local government has,” Neuhaus said. “When we promote Orange County’s different municipalities, we generate revenue for the county, and generally see a significant return on the investment. We enjoy partnering with our local governments to support and promote community events.”
The Village of Maybrook used the $4,999.99 for its Village of Maybrook “Kick Off the 4th of July Celebration” on June 30th , which included a fireworks show, live music and food vendors.
“The Village of Maybrook appreciates the County Executives support of our “Kick Off the 4th of July” event in our village” Mayor Leahy said. “Support from the County means alot to a small village, especially one like ours that is dedicated to promoting economic development and family oriented events”.
